Wow. I've got to hand it to you guys, you really turned out for this one. Here's some stats from the April 10 LAN: We had a total of 23 gamers at this event, including several first-timers: Swayye, Nitewolf, ThePunisher and Wesquin. We also had several returning old-schoolers show: Serpic0, Necroman, LordSoth, Jolly_Roger and Master_Blaster. Games included CoD4, Gears of War, UT2K4, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Demigod, Quake 3 and FlatOut 2. Unfortunately we were unable to get Mount and Blade Warband working properly, maybe we can try again next time.

Following that, the next LAN is scheduled for May 1st at the normal time and place. You know what to do, sign up, tell your friends, and discuss which games you would like to play. I am planning on picking up a new gigabit switch, so we should be 100% gigabit at this next LAN. Absolutely can't wait for May 1st, hope to see you there!

Great time. I'm glad Cody didn't see the lettuce, because I only just convinced him to eat some that day. Kid hates veggies.

Sandrock, we should get some fans for moving the hot air out of the space.

I want to point out a some things to the attendees...

1)People need to sign up when they plan on coming. If one more person came in through the door, when we were at capacity, it would have been difficult to accomodate. I think over half of the people there hadn't signed up prior.

2)(newcomers exluded)People need to be more prepared for these events, by reading these forums, and having their shit preinstalled. If I can managed 5 computers and have them lan ready at all times, you can manage having 3 or 4 games ready to go BEFORE you arrive.

3)I'm very confused that people did not preload modern warfare 2 on their computers. The game was freaking free, and we could have played it during the LAN party. I had it ready to go on 3 PCS I brought.

4)Please watch what you say to newcomers, especially in chat, because it can be hard to interpret sarcasm, joking, and the like. We want people to come back.

5)As funny as the "head" of lettuce was, realize that was all being done while on Sandrock's bandwidth from work. Please think about what you are doing, as you never know when Chris Hanson of Dateline NBC might jump around the corner and say, "What are you doing here?".

Yeah, I plan on picking up a few fans for the LAN as well. I've got one oscillating fan at home, plus I was gonna pick up two box fans I'm thinking.

I've got a bid in for a new 24 port gig switch. hope it arrives in time. also i might be bringing hot dogs to the next lan. saw them on sale at a good price.

got the new (used) 24 port gig switch in today. gonna give it a test run over the next week. fuckin yay

I'm still not aware if I can go yet. Has anyone commented on a possible theme yet? If people had fun last lan, might want to go with an extension of last week. There are plenty of other UT based titles that can can be put in there. Gears wasn't a huge hit, although we didn't play it long enough as people were still installing it.

Maybe switch out Gears with Rune, then stick with the UT2004 and Vegas 2. Maybe some COD4 for filler when people are installing games.

I know Serious Sam was getting talked up last time, and I know enough people have L4D2 we could get to some playing when the gaming starts to slow down.

And I need to spend some more time with L4D2, it got lost in the shuffle some time ago.
